Things to know about Shiva Samrak is a monument which is built in memory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj situated in the Arabian Sea, across the coast of Mumbai city in Maharashtra as it is the birthplace of Shivaji. The Chhatrapati Shivaji is a king as well as a warrior and also the biggest devotee of Lord Shiva. He personally has an inspiring history across the injustice in the Mughal Empire. The brave and patriotic story of Shivaji is given in books and also lived in the hearts of many people. And he is also called as a founder of Navy, as he introduces the defending forts and naval forces.

Generally, the Maharashtra government told Shivaji statue is built at around Rs.3800 crores by the year of 2021. The height of the statue is around 126 meters, which is situated in the pedestal on top which is about 84m. Based on the project area, it is mainly spread at around 130,000 square meters and the project seems to be finished in the year 2021. The sculpture is mainly done by the Padma Bhushan award winner Ram V Suthar, as he built the number of statues in the country.

The total cost of the project is around Rs.4, 000 crores, but due to the reduction in cost, it decreases to Rs.2, 800 crores. Based on the construction of a monument, it is associated with a library, a memorial garden, visitor buildings, and rooms for around 10,000 people.

Moreover, the main motto of building this monument is to pay tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji as he contributed to the growth and development of society as well as the country. And the construction of Shiv Smarak will attract the foreign people as it is considered as “Tallest Statue in the World”.

Finally, it breaks the record that Shiva Smarak is built at an average height of around 212m as it is generally 30m taller when compared with The Statue of Unity. So, Shiva Smarak is considered to be the tallest statue in the world. When compared with the construction of Chhatrapati Shivaji statue, the statue is smaller.

And MLC Vinayak Mete is a founder of Shiva Sangram association and a senior member committee appointed by the State government in order to monitor the project, and complete the entire work as soon as possible.

The state government instructed that the Chhatrapati Shivaji statue can have the height of around 212 meters when compared with the height of Sardar Vallabhai Patel statue which is located in Gujarat. Generally, the foundation stones for both of the statues are officially laid by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As the stone foundation ceremony for Statue of Unity is on October 31, 2013, whereas the statue of Shivaji was being held on the year 2016, 24th December.

Probably, the Shivaji statue can be constructed at the cost of Rs.3, 800 crores but the Statue of Unity is to be built in a cost of at Rs.2, 300 crores. Basically, the work in marine is about the breakwaters, reclamation of island and sea wall can be designed in order to appear on the passenger jetty, historic fort wall.
